Supporting the Financial Needs of Students

The Irving K. Barber British Columbia Scholarship Society, in partnership with the Victoria Foundation, provides scholarships to students attending public post-secondary institutions both throughout the province of B.C. and internationally.


To date, the Society has awarded over $1.2 million in scholarships.

We provide scholarships for:

  1. Students transferring from a public college, university college or institute in B.C. to another public post-secondary institution in B.C. to complete their degree,
  2. Students who are participating in study/work abroad activities outside of North America,
  3. Students from selected countries wanting to study in B.C.,
  4. Aboriginal students, and
  5. Students taking cultural or language learning studies programs abroad.
