Helping students obtain degrees
while studying closer to home longer
and at less cost
The Irving K. Barber British Columbia Scholarship Fund was established in January 2006 as a result of a $15 million contribution from the Province of BC. It is the largest of four funds held by the Irving K. Barber British Columbia Scholarship Society, and is named in honour of philanthropist Irving K. Barber, founder of Slocan Forest Products ltd.
The Irving K. Barber British Columbia Scholarship Society administers the fund in partnership with the Victoria Foundation. Up to 150 transfer scholarships of $5,000 each are distributed annually.
Scholarships from this fund are available to students who, after two years of study, choose to transfer from a public college, university college or institute in B.C. to another public post-secondary institution in B.C. to complete their degree. |
